x20 Unicraft 1/72 Fletcher FU.24
Cornering the market?
Fu 24 could make the basis of a good counter insurgency, light strike, helicopter escort, anti-helicopter, forward air control aircraft. Especially if it’s the early 1960s, you have a major war breaking out and the USA has placed a military embargo on you.

Well the FU.24 certainly could operate from some rough strips:

There is also the related FD,25:

It would be cool to see a FU.24 done up in RNZAF markings...

I can see this getting quite interesting, I will be watching this one as I do like counter insurgency aircraft, especially turbo prop raining hell ones >:D

I would love to see some 'What If' profiles of the French tailored COIN designed Sud-Aviation SE.116 (piston-engine) & SE.117 (turboprop-engine) Voltigeur aircraft design!!
Particularly in say RAAF (Vietnam-era) colours and markings. If anyone is up for it ;)

The Voltiguer in SAAF or Rhodesian colours would be cool. But for the RAAF what about a 20 years latter COIN adaption (like the B-26K Counter Invader) of this:

Oh yes please...now if only there were a kit available.
-
While it might be pushing the COIN role a bit, there is a Tamiya Beaufighter and some Tamiya, Monogram, and Hasegawa dangly bits for a USAF Vietnam model tucked safely away in The Basement.

Speaking of COIN aircraft:
A 1/48 Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano is now available (see here (http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=2908.0)):

Appropriate since the Super Tucano grew out of Embraer's work with Northrop on the JPATS entry.

The single seat A-29 Super Tucano is crying out for someone to redo it with a designed for single seat canopy.

I agree.

My take on a single-seat 'A-29C' Super Tucano.

Single seat and canopy for obvious mission advantages in looking awesome!
