I think, that some planes in reality ( WW II ) bore asymmetrical marking too  ;)

They did indeed. But some artists miss the subtlety and stick 'bars' onto the 'other side' roundel as well!

The Spanish P-39s are a definite "might have been" - see here:  https://www.oocities.org/tavaresl.geo/airacobra.htm

Imagine if enough had landed in Spain so as to allow for operational use.  Perhaps even see the engines replaced with something such as the DB601 or even 1,600 hp HS 89-12Z?  Maybe also add German derived/sourced armament?

Or maybe the three 'samples' are just enough to pique Spanish interest. Maybe Václav's grey Airacobra is ex-USAAF stock, supplied to Franco once 'all was forgiven' postwar?
