We hadn't set anything up, but this an idea worth discussing.

Unfortunately, Mr. GTX is globe-trotting with his missus, but I'll try to remember to ask him about it when he gets back.

Maybe we can call it the BoB (= Best of Beyond the Sprues) awards?

Generally I would tend to avoid this sort of thing here at BTS.  I think that all the creations submitted so far have been outstanding.  If members want to highlight individual creations though, may I suggest that you either say so in the individual submission threads or maybe simply make a post saying that they personally liked a particular creation done in the year.  There would be no voting what-so-ever but rather just a " I would like to give my thumbs up to ----  for their ---- creation this last year...". What do you think?

I can go either way on this.  I like the idea, but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time on it from an administrative perspective.

Cheers,

After discussion among the Moderation Team, I decided that an overall "Best Of" contest might not be a good idea. Many of our members find Beyond the Sprues a refuge from the contest/competitive mindset so prevalent at shows and club meets. We try to foster a very inclusive nature here and I'd hate to start anything that might work against that.

I get inspiration from all the work posted here and I think every project has merit in its own right. I'd be very hard-pressed to choose a "Best Of" from all the outstanding models and profiles that were displayed in the last year.

I agree-no votes. Maybe just a topic "Finished models in 2012-summary" ? To congratulate and sum up our works.  It's just a suggestion :)
