Thanks guys. Resin printers can be annoying - cleanup and curing require a lot of shop towels, gloves and an alcohol (or water, depending on the resin) The results are great, though.

Looks very cool.

Surely a stylish fellow with an Eastbourne would invest in Woodlites.   ;)

Frank, great print. The new age modeller is all about design ability on the computer and you are all over it.

What really got a tick from me was Nigel's cap and the jaunty angle....... great detail

Almost done. I just need an era appropriate UK license plate.

I shot these pictures in the afternoon Sun and bits of metal in the aluminum paint sparkled, making the finish look rougher than it is. The line across the hood is an Archer resin decal.

Instrument panel is just a few aircraft IP decals on a piece of sytrene. The windshield is clear plastic from a container. I ran a Molotow pen  around the edge for the frame:

No roll bar, because it didn't look good. The driver will just have to put up with a broken neck if there's a rollover:

I brushed Molotow ink (from a refill) on the grill and on the headlamp:

I'll try to photograph this under less harsh light tomorrow.

I'm calling this one finished. There are some visible print lines still, but I'm not going to fix them.
I noticed that the front left wheel isn't straight. They're just in place, si I fixed it after I took this picture. The license plate is based on a 1930s plate from the UK:

The inspector is writing down what he doesn't like about this model:

I added some oil stains to the engine side. What British car does not leak oil? The diagonal line that seems to follow the control yoke is actually a printing artifact that I missed; either the printer's Z axis needs lube or I bumped the printer at that layer:

More inspecting:

I got some of the white glue Ramba mentioned in one of his threads: Crafters Pick "The Ultimate", which is a white glue very similar to Gator's glue. It works well and 8ox should last for years.

Came out very nice.
Figure is a nice touch to scale it

I added some oil stains to the engine side. What British car does not leak oil?

To be really authentic, it needs a puddle of oil under the car   :P

But that is an outstanding model all the same

That looks fantastic Frank!

As said, the figure is instructive. He might be a nit-picky git but the inspector does give scale.

Those straight-through exhausts are awesome - no flip-flops and bare legs for Eastbourne drivers! As for rollover bars, cervical fractures might be a small price to pay for the 'care-free cool' image portrayed while bombing around in this 3-wheeler

"What British car does not leak oil?"

Indeed. If you'd gone down Buzzbom's fibre optic route, you could have simulated British sportscar electrics - indicator arm set to turn right/left turn signals blinking  ;)

I had to Google "Molotow pen". They have some intriguing stuff   Is yours a paint marker?

Thanks guys. It was a bit of a rush job, but it came out OK.

The Molotow pens are the best, simple, chrome paints out there (vs going multi layer with stinky solvent based paints). The paint is closer to an acrylic (thins with alcohol easily) and dries quickly. For some of the parts I used the marker, but I also have the Molotow pen refill, which is just the paint in a convenient container. For a shiny chrome finish, it's hard to beat - especially since it's so easy to use. I haven't tried airbrushing it although I suspect thinning it enough to prevent clogging the airbrush will remove some of the shininess.

My Mom bought a used, "almost new" 1971 Austin America/BMC ADO16. It was a fun car to drive, when it wasn't in the garage to fix a fluid leak of some kind. Drive two weeks, spend a week in the garage...

Hmmm... how much of that inspector's visage is actually a self-portrait Frank?  ;D

Thanks for that. This marker sounds like an ideal solution for chrome (especially considering that Bare Metal foil was just about the only chrome 'solution' back in the bad old days!). As you say, thinning will probably take away some of that shininess. I wonder if several layers applied with the airbrush would put back the shine?

Had to check what that was, it's an Austin 1100. Never knew they sold them in the USA.

I had two, but they were too short, same with the original BMW exhausts.

I remember seeing more than one (usually in for repairs when we would drop ours off...) transmission issues were annoyingly common, but when it was running well the car was fun to drive.

Thanks guys. It was a bit of a rush job, but it came out OK.

Your 'rush jobs' seem like prototypes from a professional run of commercial kits.

Jus' sayin'.
