Here are the Rules of the "Brian da Basher/Brian Perri Memorial" Group Build:
- Have Fun!!!
- Do something that is either inspired by something Brian would have done or is in tribute to him
- Spats and airship modifications encouraged.
- Plastic, resin, pixels/profiles and stories (and anything else if you can think of it) are all welcome.
- Humour encouraged especially in supporting stories
- Creativity encouraged as is collaboration
- Duration is the whole of 2020. An extension will probably be granted, but only if you ask nicely...bah! ... who cares.
- Any questions are to be directed to the Moderator.
- There will be no vote - the idea is simply to encourage people to pay tribute to one of our founding members and icons of the hobby.
- See rule 1

Request/Suggestion --- Brian Perri Memorial GB be extended to year end since is no voting window to address.
Have a build and kits awaiting that Brian and I discussed doing. We planned as series of related builds. Miss those planning phone calls. This one to be first of series which would build upon it. Is more readily doable than complex builds I get myself into. Like for any BTSer to join in doing builds that follow the premise. Surprise home basement flood and incompetent contractor issues with rental house on top of being busy have delayed me.
Expect to start it soon.

Request/Suggestion --- Brian Perri Memorial GB be extended to year end <...>
I'd support that. It's been good to see so many builds and backstories with Brian in mind and I'm sure there's still plenty of inspiration left for many more builds. While they could of course be posted in the relevant subsections, it's kinda neat to have them in this special GB.
I had/have some ideas, but couldn't (yet) find the time to start those projects without risking getting lost in a multitude of builds.
-
Agreed.
-
I think a year long BdB build - or even a dedicated GB section would be great. I'd like to build another Brian inspired build, but I have other builds I want to start (or finish) first.

The whole of 2020 ! Wicked !   I have at least one more in my head.

Thank you mods. A new job means I haven’t been back to the bench until this morning.
in that case, im gonna look for a second entry ;)
I’ve just got out my third! >:(

I was just about to suggest that we make this a permanent feature of the site - The Basher Memorial Page, or something like that - but the rest of the year will give me time to get a few more stories told...
-
"Until the end of the year" sounds fantastic!
I am opening my second build right away :)
-
How are we going guys? Anyone need an extension?

Didn't know where to post this, but Brian was pretty active on other boards, like The Unofficial Airfix Modellers' Forum.
This post (https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=49247.0) on What If by VickersVandal pointed me to the board, where they he was known as "The Great Auk". They recently had a group build in his honor. (https://uamf.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=444)
