I'm looking for a Bearcat center line fuel tank in 1/48 scale, like this one in the pic. I have a photo of a Spiteful which has something very similar and I want to put one on one of the Spiteful kits I have.

The older Monogram Hellcat and Corsair kits have tanks with that shape as well but slightly smaller overall. The Tigercat tank is slightly larger than the Hawk/Testor's Bearcat tank.

I think either the Bearcat or Tigercat tank would work Jeff :) but it is this elongated one I'm after.
Check the images of the kit sprues in these kit reviews from CyberModeler: Italeri (AMT/Ertl) F7F Tigercat in-box review Monogram F9F-5P Reconnaissance Panther Either tank might work.
Looking at the photo in the Alfred Price book on the Spitfire, those shapes are getting a bit on the fat side. I couldn't find a pic on the internet, but this is what I'm after and the Bearcat one seems to be the closest.

Not even sure the Bearcat tank would work for that purpose either. Reminds me of the tip tanks seen on the Sea Vixen or Vampire in shape and that little protrusion at the rear of the tank I suspect is an attachment point.
Would a drop tank from a 1/48 Corsair work? I ended up with several in the spares box.

At least I could make it passable --I managed to check last night and it is indeed like that in the picture. I'll have to dig a bit more, but I think I may have two.
