Gonnie's entries
« on: December 16, 2013, 06:27:54 PM »
Hi guys!

It's been almost a half of the year from my last post here, but I've finally finished some time consuming and troubling issues like moving form one flat to another (after 11 years stockpiling models, parts and modeling junk :D), finished second studies and etc.

But according to the theme of  these group build, I've would like to present three entries (still about 10 more to go):

1.   Red Alert heavy tank – this one is probably closest to finish, so it should take me about 4 days to complete it,
thread: http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=2853.0
Currently I'm focused on finishing diorama and adding some details to tank.

2.   SPT – BV 15 H Super Bravier” – this one is some mecha from, quite old anime which dates back to 1986 (“SPT Layzner”); model itself was manufactured by early Bandai.
It's a modification of basic combat mech of Grados army with new backpack, shield, gun and UN painting ;). Model is almost finished, but I'll still got some hard time with diorama – namely launching site located somewhere on Sahara desert.

3.   The Dropship” – this one goes more than 2 years and it's partially scratch build, partially kitbash – cockpit, canopy some hull parts and wings came from Mil Mi-24 Hind, engines and few parts are made from Y-Wing, hull and crew transport compartment are mainly scratch build (yup, tons of putty and styrene + some model debris from V-22 Osprey) + there are parts from various other models (as I remember correctly there are even some single spare tracks from late Tiger tank ;D). The only one (and most frustrating) problem is connected with badly damaged canopy (damned glue on it + scratches :icon_sueno:) that makes me stuck on this model and I just don't want to buy new hind only to cannibalized it for its canopy. I'll try to bypass that complication by making it from scratch but I'm not sure if it came up well enough.

That's it for now, any updates I'll post here.

Thanks for comments  :D

I'm planning to repaint Dropship with pixel pattern cammo (dark grey, medium grey & black) and add low visibility markings to it (of course shark face will stay were it is 8) ).

Ok, finally I've got something to show as an update although I know it's a bit late but It's possible that at least tank will be ready before GB deadline :)

Diorama after primer and preliminary wash:

The surface of road and pavement were cut off from plasticinie (about 3 containers of it)

Diorama + tank & crew:

Furthermore I've also done Red Alert logo from few layers of plastic:

Well, it was close but still I haven't broke the first rule of this GB  ;D

Ok that's all for now, next update should be around tommorow morning.

First of all thanks for comments  :D

Well, I've finally finished that red monster and its diorama  :D:

And few details/delay reasons  ;) :

1. tank commander:

2. crew during some serious planing (reason - they spotted a crate of vodka on Allies controlled part of city):

3. very Red Army platoon:

4. inscription on left side of tank:

5. some mural on ruined wall:
