Pz.Kpfw III Ausf. L - 10 Pz.Div. - Tamiya 1/35
« on: April 27, 2021, 10:35:50 PM »
Hi all,
I started to build this "old" Tamiya kit:

by Rodolfo Masti, on Flickr

as usual a quick look inside the box:

To better detail the kit I'll try to use this aftermarket PE: Part P35-127 Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.L

by Rodolfo Masti, su Flickr

and I would like to use this friulmodel track:

Nice simple Tamiya kit! Plus it doesn't have the old nasty electric motor gubbins' to deal with. 8)

Like? ??? You would LIKE to use Fruilmodel tracks? :-\

Been there. Done that. You is crazy, Brother Fixer! :o

OK, sure, they're better than the old rubber band tracks but almost anything is! Modelkasten do styrene indy links that, at least, just glue together.

At least if one ever gets a model kit of the Hanwha Defense AS21 Redback, rubber band tracks will be the way to go since that's what the real vehicle has ;):

Hi mate,
I made this tool, based on instruction published by producer, to make faster the Friulmodel Tracks assembling phase .. what do you think about it?
Any tip, as usual, is welcome ...   :D

Looks like a good idea! I came up with something similar, using a steel ruler taped to the modelling mat.

Nice gadget.
I like Fruils.

This kit is viceless and look quite good out the box. With a bit of Aber/Eduard love even better. Just a bit, there is always stuff on those sets that replace stuff that does not need replacing or is a backward step like replacing a plastic hinge with a much flatter, more 2d version.

I painted the model with a layer of Black Primer ...

by Rodolfo Masti, on Flickr

by Rodolfo Masti, on Flickr

After allowing the base color to dry, (and after dusting the light box ...  8)  )
I gave the model a thin layer of paint, this time usinf Tamiya XF-60 - Dark Yellow ...

Looking good.

Your work here makes me think again of using the Panzer III as the basis of an Australian tank.  Basic back story would be to have one captured and shipped back to australia for reverse engineering.  End result would be slightly different  but you get the idea.

What these gentlemen said! 8)

'Though maybe not "Neat as a pin", 'coz she's rather worn & dusty & gritty. ;)

Oh, that is nice! The weathering is subtle - looks like this Panzer has only been in North Africa long enough to get dusty
