Another manufacturer I wasn't aware of: Rye Field Model

Three kits so far:

We've been selling the Tigers where I work since just before Christmas. They've been going fairly well, to the people who replace their Tigers every time a new, better, more accurate one comes along. :)
Honestly, they aren't any more than the latest Dragon releases, and are apparently way more accurate. The full interior version is only $35.00 or so more than the regular one!

That only happens in Hollywood movies. In real life the command would have been, "Walk! Trot! Charge!" with the appropriate bugle calls accompanying them. Horses don't go from standing starts to "charge" very easily.

Seems an awfully big vehicle to only mount a .50cal HMG on...

There's a build of this kit in Military Modelcraft International. The 'what if' 2021 issue (Dec '16). I always thought a MICLIC would be effective against a zombie horde. Fire the line out, let it land on their heads and shoulders and... KA-BOOM! Path cleared

You can tell zombie stories/films aren't written by soldiers. They never use air burst artillery or string up claymores in the trees and streetlights. I would bet there would be someone who would get in their tank and say F-it! Run them mothers down! Or maybe it's just me... $:-\$

No one with any sense "Strings up" Claymores. You lose the advantage of the design of the mine, which is meant to have a horizontal spread across about 60 degrees with 700 ball bearings. It also blows the trees to smithereens, showering you with debris.

There was a T-34 converted to an ARV by one of the Iron Curtain countries during the early years of the Cold War that had been modified with a double set of tracks and wheel/drive sprockets. Intended for swampy or marginal terrain where a lower ground pressure would allow for better travel. I would imagine the Abrams with a double set of tracks and wheels/drive sprockets would have some advantages over its single tracked brethren in areas where low ground pressure would be an advantage.

Tundra Tours in an Abrams to mingle amongst the Polar Bears perhaps? :)

The legs/feet things mounted ahead of the mine/debris plow certainly look like antennas on a large bug of some kind.

"String up claymores" is a term we used for attaching the lead wire from mine to detonator. So even if the mine was on the ground, you would 'string it up'.
The idea would be to attach them to a tree trunk or post around eye level. I wasn't talking about dangling them from the branches like Christmas decorations. How would you even get to the top of a street light without a cherry picker or something?
Anyways, if they were placed on the ground the blast would likely be absorbed by the mass of the bodies closest to it. Placing the mine at head/shoulder level would seem to be more effective (?).

The Training Pam on the Mine, M17a1, Claymore was emphatic about the dangers of attaching the mine to anything. As you were only issued with 25 metres of cable to use to detonate the mine, you were well within the blast zone of the mine. That would, I am sure been effectively doubled if you attached it to a tree or anything else. You must remember, while the ball-bearings were directed forward, towards the enemy, there was an equal blast backwards. I once remember sitting through rather a boring lesson where a young Digger tried to argue with the instructor about the possibility of a hand-held recoilless Claymore. The only way to silence him as to demonstrate what happened when a Claymore exploded. There was a reason why the weapon was only to be used from an entrenched position. The amount of shit that was produced was massive when you lit one off. In close terrain, that would include six inch or longer splinters. Not nice. In front was even worse, with 700 ball bearings.

That’s cool but I don’t know that it’s a “must buy” for me even though I’m a Sherman Easy 8 fan. There have been versions of this tank made by Academy, Dragon, Asuka, Tamiya and Italeri, so unless it has some really outstanding features like maybe a full interior, there’s not necessarily much incentive for me to get it.

As an aside, I think some other company (maybe Takom?) announced a VVSS version of this tank.

New JLTV M1278A1 with M153 CROWS. US Army and Slovenian versions. The Slovenian version includes the raised exhaust, front bumper and winch parts which are the same as the USMC version, FINALLY! The raised exhaust can be seen in the third image below. For a USMC version, leave off the M153 and replace it with an MCTAGS turret.

Still a bit gobsmacked with all the bits, doors, clamps and every other thing that appears to open/shut and have stuff in it.
I think I have a Tamiya Leo 2A5 in the stash... thank goodness.

Now even AFV Modellers can do the often seen aircraft trope of an aircraft/Helicopter, with every hatch open, cover removed and still fully armed and ready for take off.
