A modest proposal regarding the I & I board ...

(1/3) > >>

G'Day folks,

My reasons for making this proposal are two-fold:
1) to prevent it from becoming unwieldy as more info is added;
2) to make it easier for folks to find/follow those subjects of personal interest.

So, based on a review of what is already in place I am proposing five Child Boards:
Aero-Space (aviation and real space subjects)
Land (anything that 'primarily' rolls, crawls or walks on land, ice, snow etc.)
Sea (anything that 'primarily' operates anywhere on or under the sea)
SF-Fantasy (self-explanatory and including any of the ____- Punk genres)
Alt.- Conflict (ie.e broad themes like Greg's WWI thread)

Thoughts?

Excellent suggestion Mr Mus anarchistus!

YES MAKE IT SO!  That's the one thing I always wished the Whiff boards had done but alas...  The ship section will probably be rather empty though.  Raise your hands ship people!  :)

I have a fleet slowly assembling off-stage ... I think armed landing craft and Flak-Lighters to start.  ;)

There are two threads currently.  I think however that whereas aircraft threads tend to be aircraft specific, the ship ones tend to be class specific.  Doesn't necessarily mean they are any less popular...not with me at least.  Of course, if people wanted to do a ship type specific (e.g. a USS Montana thread) there is nothing stopping them.

What I am curious about here is the reasons for the person who has disagreed with the proposal.  I am not trying to single anyone out or to persecute them in any way.  Rather I just want to ensure that we haven't overlooked anything here.  I would be grateful if you could post your reasons here.  Alternatively, if need be please PM with Jon or me with your thinking so that we can also factor this in.

Kind regards,

Greg
