During the long peace of the 1940's the French government sold old bombers to individuals. Some of the Amiot 143's were converted to touring aircraft. The slowness and large windows of the aircraft were advantages for touring. The conversion involved lengthening the fwd and aft fuselage and adding seats. The bomb bay was converted to a restroom. The aircraft had some problems. It could only carry 6 passengers. The cabin was very narrow making movement forward and aft difficult. Also, the pilot's forward visibility was very poor, especially on the ground.
