The United States Navy's
Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division previously known as Naval Ordnance Test Station China Lake located near Inyokern, California in the Mojave Desert. NOTS China Lake began life as a research, development and test center for rocket ordnance for the United States Navy during WW2. The YouTube channel contains a number of videos covering the history of the facility from its inception during WW2 through present day and covers many weapons programs that have come and gone over the years. Definitely worth the time to watch and relearn some history about things that go boom.
