Rockwell UV10 Delta Firewatch - Finished !
« on: January 29, 2023, 02:19:26 AM »
Hi all

Whilst sourcing parts for the Flying Parcel Machine I assembled the collection of the parts below........

As usual no pre planning at all on this one I'm just going to kit bash them together an hopefully make something eye catching.

The role of this aircraft is an unmanned fire watch vehicle used by forestry services, but there is no reason it could not be used for military purposes

More when it happens.........

Thanks guys.

Yea I thought they are phantom fins, the locating tabs (now gone  ;)) were at a very sharp angle. Taking into account the colour and panel lines I reckon they are ex matchbox.

Just realised I need to etch some ailerons  on  :-\

Looks like plenty of real estate to work with in that regard. Don't forget flaps and spoilers! Are you going to fill the Matchbox trench diggers work?

Hi all

PSR has outed and has been suitably rubbed down.

I've added an air intake and sensor/camera dome plus a couple of aerials.

This one is ready for painting ......

More when it happens

And suddenly, it's all finished !

And a couple of scale shots to show how small it is....

I'm very pleased how this one turned out, amazing what you can do with a few random parts.

As always, all comments and criticisms gratefully accepted

Great job and excellent re-use/re-purpose of left over parts!  I have a couple of those very same reconnaissance pods in my own stash and often wondered what could be done with the things.  Same problem with the TARPS pod from the F-14 kits.

I’ve got one of those TARPS pods, been laying around for years. Now I know what to do with it.
