There is a small, juvenile, possibly delinquent, part of my mind that always finds images of helicopters with IFR probes rather inappropriately amusing. ;)

Random idea:  RNZAF CH-46 or CH-47 possibly in schemes similar to below:

http: not https:, so my computer security doesn't allow me to view those images, unless I copy & paste to each link & override the security.

Either of the first two would be good. :smiley:

Not keen on grey. ::)

Hold that thought....

I've got some CH46 and CH47 profiles knocking around somewhere.  I'll see if I can fish them out and post them here

Okay,  I had some of these knocking about from a while back and some I knocked up in response to the comments above

CH-47 in the original olive and yellow scheme

CH-47 in the later South East Asia wrap around scheme

CH-47 in the Euro 1 scheme

CH-47 in the Antarctic Orange Roughy scheme

CH-47 in NZ Army Air Corps colours

CH-46 in the original olive and yellow scheme

CH-46 in the later South East Asia wrap around scheme

Increasingly like the idea of a RNZAF CH-46.

That CH47+CH53 hybrid looks really great. I'm imagining a mobile surgical response team (MSRT) in a transportable pod.

Piasecki Refreshes Hybrid Chinook Concept

AURORA, Colorado—Piasecki Aircraft says an updated version of long-running concept studies of a radically modified Boeing CH-47 Chinook combining the helicopter’s existing twin-rotor system with a tiltwing and twin tilting ducted fans has become more relevant with the U.S. Army’s growing drive for longer range troop transport and logistics support.

...

In 2008 Piasecki and Boeing revealed they had worked together on a “minimum” modification of the Chinook, called the Tilt Duct CH-47, which included a simplified version of the Vectored Thrust Ducted Propeller flown on Piasecki’s X-49A Speedhawk. Other proposed changes to the basic CH-47 at the time included bigger engines to drive the rotors and props, relocating the fuel tanks under the cabin, streamlining the aft fuselage and fairing the hubs to reduce drag.

Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.
