Perhaps for use as either a long range version (jet left off except for combat) or a carrier version (Piston used during landing to overcome early jet spool up time restrictions)?

Tail fin is from Lockheed Electra. I plan to build this and, in this case, I want to re-shape a DH Hornet tailfin in order to make it look more Lockheed.
