How about a tank destroyer version with a 77mm HV or even a Molins Gun?

Not quite a Saladin with a 77mm gun but there was this South African eight-wheeled variant of the Alvis FV603 Saracen chassis with a 77mm gun:

Logan, commented earlier about the Rarden on the Saladin, just so happens I have the Dragon Saladin on the bench and a Fox Turret from an earlier FV432 build

Could work, likewise the Rarden directly in the Saladin Turret would perhaps work as well. But I read somewhere that everything would have to change sides as the
76mm is loaded from the left and the Rarden from the right. Or visa versa.

Sadly a bit late to test that out as the 76mm is now firmly embedded.

This is going to be an OOB (with a few tweaks) build of a Brit Machine. Maybe Aussie, have not got that far yet. However shortcomings or not, this is a nicely engineered kit and easy to assemble.

Yeah, you're going to need to do one of those as a full build one of these days...

Maybe in Berlin Brigade camo or in the sand and green scheme seen on some British armored cars in Cyprus or Aden? I bet you could even do a sharp Operation Granby one with a big Union Jack flying from it or something.

Cheers,

Logan

Maybe add a Milan ATGW launcher to the top of the turret as well?

Now your're talking. Some merit in that. Pity they are so damn expensive

Diorama ideas, showing my bias for tracks.

That said, I have a small box of Tamiya Saladin parts if anyone in the US is thinking about doing something imaginative.

For my wargames set in a fictional nation in Africa I decided that my stock of JB Saladins andSaracens could be used as the basis of a recce unit

First up a SP AA Version with twin 30mm cannon (turret comes from a T-34/76)

The CO's "Charger"

Flamethrower or perhaps water cannon?

120mm WOMBAT and 81mm mortar vehucles

Saladin 90, re-armed with Kenerga 90/46 cannon.
Forget about his bow and arrows- why wait until that sparrow has done his deed when I can just bury him right now 'cause I'm sick and tired of hearing why he wants to have his way with the cock robin!?

If the Saladin can take it, the TA-20 with two Oerlikon KAD cannons is also likely the best chance of having a radar fire control.

Otherwise there is the S530 turret with two M621 cannons.
