As a matter of fact it was, I was just going to do a straight Red alert version but then I placed the mig kit next to my f16xl and the idea just clicked.

Originally this was just supposed to be a tail-less, f-22 nozzled f-15, but I got a little carried away with it.

Wow all these are amazing, considering they are only 1/144 scale!
I guess its also an affordable form of prototyping a given design in a larger scale!

P.S. Your 'stretched' Tornado ADV somewhat gives me the impression of the Panavia consortiums attempt to mimic General Dynamics F/B-111H! Nice!!

For ASW Hind, how about "reverting" to a Hind-A cockpit and canopy?

I'm envisioning this as an inbetween version of the A and D models

This'll be a civve floatplane - I know I said I didn't have any in scale floats but what I do have is a load of 1/350 scale flying boats that i can cut in half:

Well 2017 is off to a bad start. My airbrush compressor broke in the middle of a painting session.
I had to fall back on a half empty can of airbrush propellant and classic hairy stick to finish these builds.

First up, ProwlerBug:

There's alot of bleed through under the masking tape because I wasn't familiar with using a propellant can.




ASW Hind, went for the more visible bubble style cockpit:



Chin mounted radar, drop tanks, torpedos and sonobouy launching capability provided by a guy in the back throwing them out the side door.

Love the Prowlerbug!  Reminds me there is a story about US expeditionary / landbased EW capability, post retirement of the USMCs Prowlers and their decision not to go for Growlers, in the USNI website.

Beautiful concepts, all!!  I do believe the flatbed proposals had a fairing between the permanent portion of the fuselage and the first freight item; that would make a lot of sense with regard to reducing overall drag.

They wouldn't know a good idea if it hit them in the head. And I did try, I got a binder full of my ideas, went to their office and started smacking people on the head. Security has my picture and I'm not allowed back.

Ah. I knew I forgot something. I think that's one of the drawbacks of the flatbed concept, it's a bit inflexible to always have to make sure there's a fairing available for any given payload.



Finally finished, some kind of 50's style carrier based fighter/bomber. From some 1/144 trumpeter/monogram F-86's, originally I didn't really know what I was going to do with this kit but a pair was only about $3, so I couldn't resist and got a few boxes.
