the other half of the 1/144 Tomcat :

I had this idea (who knows wherefrom or why?) that a swept-wing aircraft should match well with a saxophone ;
in reality (if I dare say so) it came less obviously, but I somehow managed, for my series in music instruments

Congratulations for the PSR work on the removed nose (gone elsewhere, we saw this), here this seems natural, for making room to blow the saxophone, and the airflow is changing direction with the curve and is directed toward the air intakes, good! ;)

I found some pieces of a kind of pod in my spares box to make the basis of the new nose, so it wasn't too hard  ;)

it was tempting, and I had this remainder from earlier projects, a Victor fuselage, which deserved its moment of glory, even without the cockpit, but even older I had this head of Ariane 5 rocket which fit just naturally, like all the rest : and when nature fits, why resist?

Coat hanger brilliance  :o
Plan view proportions are ideal with Victor fuselage.
For those inclined to scratch build:  Metal, plastic, or wood coat hanger can be structure to build wing upon.

Funny... :-*
(but this not "only funny": this is the best explanation of the Victor's wing shape that I have ever seen) ;)

[Tophe-inspired!] P-51 Dv-2, red Re: hybrid aircraft/animals and others
« Reply #1062 on: October 27, 2017, 10:36:01 PM »

some time ago I discovered Tophe's P-51 Bv-2 (with some other influence as well) :

and it fired me to get a kit of the F_82 (well, actually, several : wait and see ...)

and make an imaginary interpretation, where the whiffing consists of going to the D version of the P-51 :

the nose is a bit short, it comes from a He-59 ...

and I had to cheat a bit with the rear wheel, in order to have enough height for the pushing propeller  ;)

:-* :-* :-* Oh, so wonderful! You made it? True? Or is this just a Photoshop joke?
I feel honoured to be the source (somehow) of such a marvel... :-[
Have you discarded the ventral air scoop of the main fuselage to have a dorsal scoop (red a little lighter, it seems a scoop, no?). Wow, so great!

I realize I already did some others as well ...

from my archive, and to compensate the PB loss, here is a little recall :

and another one, also Tophe inspired at the time :

and I have made another one which I will show soon, and still have one on my stash ...

hi all, after being away from internet for a moment I'm back again.

So, some time ago I also discovered Tophe's P-51 Bv :

and it fired me to fetch another kit of the F_82 (I still have one left after that ...)

and make an imaginary interpretation, where the whiffing consists of going to the D version of the P-51, and augmenting visibility (it is a 3-seater) :

And where are the extra parts (not P-82) coming from? (glazed posts, front and rear, and also the tailplane) ???

Those are some build combos.
Nice plastic surgery, asymmetrical yet looking correct in their own way.
Yellow seaplane F-82 is concept I'd like to build with some undetermined fighter.  Also looks correct.

the front glass come from a 1/48 P-61, and fitted just very nicely  ;)
the rear one I don't know ... and the tailplane maybe from a BF109?
