Doesn’t look like we can blame AI for this one.

Someone here suggested a Dart version of the Spitfire .... :-\

Guilty as charged. The link is to a tweaked version (with rear fuselage counter-weights deleted as per Robert's suggestion).

From the: The Two-Seat Spitfire Page

Today, 5th March 2026, is the 90th anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire (serial K5054).

To mark this anniversary, Spitfires.com has repainted one of its two-seat Spitfires (BS410) in the colours of K5054.

In partnership with the Royal Air Force, the aircraft will tour the UK in a series of 9 flights, one for each decade since 1936.

Each flight will be accompanied by a modern RAF aircraft and will carry one member of the public in the Spitfire’s rear seat

The aims of the event:
1. To create a national commemoration of the Spitfire’s first flight.
2. To showcase how RAF aircraft technology has advanced since 1936.
3. To raise funds for supported charities.

Seats for all 9 flights will be auctioned to the public, with all proceeds going to charity. Full details are available at https://www.spitfires.com/spitfire90

Did you know that ...

Beverley Strahan Shenstone MASc, HonFRAes, FAIAA, AFIAS, FCAISI, HonOSTIV was a Canadian aerodynamicist often credited with developing the aerodynamics of the Supermarine Spitfire elliptical wing.

Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

Random idea:  Spitfire with US style 6 x 12.7mm MGs in wings.  Possibly asa US licensed production Spitfire instead of P-51.
