I'm looking for a couple of 1/72 F-101 under-fuselage drop tanks, I thought I had a pair but I can't find them in the usual places I keep stuff like that.

I think I've got a F-101B in the local stash that I could raid from.

Almost every C-130 kit has these things included. While the same scale tanks would be in the 1000 gallon/3800 Litre capacity there is the option of finding a 1/144th scale tank for your purposes. You can also expand your search to include 1/48th scale tanks that could pass for what you are looking for that are included with the Monogram F-84F Thunderstreak kit. These are the tanks that were to be mounted on the outboard wing pylons and are included in both flavors of the F-84F kit (nuke or the conventional bomber). A similar shaped tank was also used by the F-100 for ferry flights.

What I'm after is a shortish fat tank with parallel sides like a C-130 tank and I thought if I could get some F-101 tanks it would work quite well. Plus as the RCAF used the F-101B there would be many 'surplus to requirement' which would be around the time line for the turbo-prop installation I was thinking about. I looked at some 600 Gal F-4 tanks too and some Hunter 200 Gal but they don't quite fit the bill.
Brian might have a couple of the C-130 tanks in 1/144th scale. I have a few of the 1/72nd scale C-130 tanks and it is no problem to set aside a couple for you.
