Another US railroad whif from me, a Baldwin "sharknose" A-unit locomotive in Santa Fe "Warbonnet" markings.  The markings on the one used by Delaware and Hudson could be used as something of a guide.

Yeah.  To the best of my knowledge, the Santa Fe never owned any of those.  I would love to see a good profile of that.

Centurion lower hull, with tall/narrower turret, like a Gepard, with a single HAWK missile on a rail on each side of the turret.

Basically, a lot like Buzzbomb's Malkara on a Cromwell:

Yep.  I didn't know that had been done.  I am not at all certain it was ever done full scale.

Anyone willing to do a Ukrainian F-4E Phantom inspired by this article:  https://www.twz.com/air/greece-plans-to-sell-f-16s-mirages-to-rationalize-its-fighter-inventory.  I was thinking that with the way so much old 1970s/80s (and older) equipment is getting re-use in the war, one could even see their F-4 Phantoms getting use...

Another thought if someone wants to take it up:  Ex-Luftwaffe/Aeronautica Militare Tornado IDS and ECRs in Ukrainian service.

Since the USAF is looking to phase out their A-10's, how about sending a bunch to the Ukrainians?

By the same token, I could see phased out USMC AV-8B+'s going there, though they would need more training than a lot of other potential "surplus" aircraft.

Purchased a book on the history of Air Force One and that inspires me to think of a VC-121C done up in a variation of the Raymond Lowey scheme used on the jet-propelled Air Force One aircraft.

On secretprojects forum people who, apparently, know something are saying that the A-10 can be great if you have air superiority. In contested airspace it is a sitting duck.

Because they would be dead meat in the face of the air defence environment there.  More importantly, the Ukrainians have said that they don't want them.

I know RW the Ukrainians changed their mind on the A-10s. And that makes sense in such a GBAD environment.

Still ... looking at the stalky undercarriage legs of the A-10, I can't help but imaging all that ground clearance being exploited for use as a carrier for air-launch attack drones. Of course, in that role, the A-10's monster Gatling gun would just be dead weight. Hey ho ...
