raaf wirlwind mk111 "have go joe"

after taking the Philippines the allies were plagued with bombing raids from nearby bases still in Japanese hands,the best interceptor available to them was the newer model whirlwinds,now made in Australia and merlin powered they now had the altitude performance to take the fight to the later model Japanese bombers,two sqns of whirlwinds were moved to Clark field to keep the enemy from getting through.





and with my previous Darwin defense whirlwind.
it's a resin fuselage(supplied by martin h from the other site) special hobby wings and tail.airfix undercarriage and canopy and cut down redroo spitfire prop blades.
the scheme is a pentland spitfire scheme that probably never existed,decals are aeromaster aussie spit's.

The Whirlwind has great WHIF potential. Excellent work on this MK. III.
