Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

Thanks for sharing the above images Carl.  Nice to see that other options were being explored for the F-106 beyond the interceptor role.  The large camera system in the second image is of particular note as that appears to be an Optical Bar Camara (OBC) system that would find use later on the A-11, SR-71 Blackbirds.

A shame that there are no images of the additional stores pylons on the wings to get an idea of the profile shape that was used for these proposals.

CFBV

Two conceptual operational USAF/Convair F-106C Super Darts from the 101st FIS, Massachusetts ANG. Under the F-106X designation, several proposals were initiated to upgrade the F-106 fleet. During the late 1950s-early-1960s, Convair studied several variants of the F-106A Delta Dart. One F-106X (‘C’ Illustrated) Super Dart study featured a new intake configuration (similar to F-15), canards, clear canopy, and an uprated engine (Pratt &Whitney JT4B-22 turbojet) that extended the tail section.
