These new navy birds need some equally awesome carriers to go with them!!!!!!! Keep em coming man  8)

I wonder what sort of mods a Majestic would need to operate Corsairs and Crusaders....new catapult and arrester gear to start with, upgraded elevators?

On the other hand Victorious, Hermes and Eagle, maybe even Centaur were all available or even offered to Australia during the mid 60's to mid 70's.  I was even told by an ex RAN FAA bloke that when the two ocean navy policy was first implemented the plan was to operate three carriers, one on each coast and one in reserve, this was supported by a report from the late 60s I read that quoted then defence minister Malcolm Frazer as saying the two ocean navy would require an increase in carrier numbers to three.  Maybe Essex class as well but the crewing requirement would have been more severe than the UK options.

The potential of different classes and sizes of carrier opens the possibility of different airgroups for each, a real world logistical disaster but a whiffing paradise.

Oh, forgot to mention that the anchor seen in the bottom left corner goes on the upper starboard and underside port wings, in a similar location to the Kiwi on the upper port wing, so that when the wings are folded you can see the anchor in the same orientation as illustrated. (Hope that makes sense) ;D

OK, opinions please!

Which one?

With anchor in roundel or without?

Low-vis greys or WWII camo?

Cheers

Here's the CAG jet. Or whatever the Royal Navy name is for such a thing.

“Wings” the nickname of the “Commander (Flying)” who is actually a division head for the ship and there is no air wing. The squadron commanders report for flight operations to Wings and for everything else to the ship’s commanding officer (Captain). Royal Navy flying squadrons are also called 8xy Naval Air Squadron (NAS) never just 8xy Squadron. In the Royal Australian Navy they are called 8xy Squadron, RAN. Also fleet air arm 700 series squadrons are reserved for shore based units. 800 series squadrons are the ship based units.

I love the green and grey Corsair schemes. Very cool looking and realising something similar I’d been thinking about for some time.
