The real Manchester III

Remember this from a few months ago?

Well, at Heritagecon I picked up the Academy Lancaster, and started hacking at it tonight. First was to tape the vertical stabilisers to the horizontal stabiliser so I could figure where to cut.

After a shot of paint to highlight where the cut goes, the tips were removed and used to extend the horizontal stabilisers.

Then an old tailplane piece, might have come off an Airfix Kingfisher, was cut down for the new vertical stabiliser.

And she's now in the paint shop!
