Well that came out well, you've attained a level of figure painting that I can only aspire too.

Particularly like the work on the face, you've avoided the "rabbits eyes in the headlights " finish but managed to attain a weary warrior sort of vibe.

Love it  :-* :-* :-* :-*

Thanks heaps. 'Mog! :icon_alabanza:

I just used my 1/35 figure painting techniques on what is, essentially, a 1/24 figure ... It seems to have worked fairly well, but I'm sure I could improve if I worked at it. ;)

As above! And you should be happy with this full-of-awesomeness build!

Plus, it has got plenty of 'Christmas Cheer' ... assuming that such a cheer would also be a blood-curdling battle-cry  ;)

I've just had the incredible experience of having my wife walk in & ask "Why is there a knight on the bookcase?"

To which I replied, "It's Christmas, that's Santa!"

I then received a confused look & she walked away.

Man, I LOVE being weird! ;D ;D ;D

I have to add to the plaudits... you have done a terrific job on this for a figure scale you have not worked much with.

The face and beard, sell it for what it is, as does the colour choices. Really well done.

If you get the urge to do a couple more tweaks then might I suggest a bit more shading on the bottom of cloak to suggest trailing in the dirt from time to time, especially since it is white.

There are plans to do a bit more weathering when I finally decide if this is going to be part of a small diorama or a stand-alone figure.

As a stand-alone, he'll get a very light weathering on the cape, similar to his boots (only lighter).

As a diorama figure, the weathering may be slightly heavier & involve some of the Vallejo Snow Effect paste I have in the armoury. ;)

The diorama needs me to summon up the courage to use AliExpress, or Etsy, or ebay to but some figures from. :-\

That came out very merry* indeed! I will have to remember the braids technique-I hardly ever do figures, but I do have a few in the stash.

(My three favorite Christmas movies in no particular order, We're No Angels (1955), Hogfather (2006), and Rare Exports (2010) )

 *I find mayhem very merry-who doesn't?

Thanks, Doc! :icon_alabanza:

1. Hogfather (the book)
2. Hogfather (the movie)

I've probably seen We're No Angels, but I can't remember it, & I've not seen Rare Exports, so I can't comment on either.

I got a bit heavy-handed with the paint on the braids but it's an excellent technique. I've not seen it anywhere else but it seemed like a good thing to try when the Apoxy Sculpt kept failing.
