The "gun racks" are just PE strips that I bent into a U until they clamped the guns. I trimmed them to length, glued them to L shaped plastic holders made out of strip styrene and attached them to the back wall.

I'm getting close to the finish line - maybe by the end of the month. All the parts below except the front cab are loose.

I painted everything above the chassis (painted in NATO green) in Russian 4B0, since - unlike Olive Drab - everyone agrees on the exact shade ("roughly green, depending on how much vodka you drank when mixing it up and how long it's been sitting in the Sun"). I also added Ukrainian digital camo decals to the side of the shelter.

I needed a place for the sensors and anti-drone antennas, so I made a mast of sorts from a Plastruct "O" Scale ladder and cage that I've had in my stash for years. Of course, such a tall structure needs protection from errant cables, so I added a cable cutter as well:

I made the solar panels in my CAD program, by pasting a picture of a standard 60 cell residential panel and scaling it down to 1/35. I printed them on photo paper with my laser printer and glued the results to some ABS panels I'd printed earlier. I think they look pretty good, even though the edges of the ABS still need trimming. The four panels would generate roughly 1200W on a good day. Enough for the electronics on the vehicle, or a very slow charge for the vehicle's main battery.

Here's a closeup of the solar panels (and cat hairs, which I'll remove later):

The 20kW generator is at the end of the vehicle, on and extension platform I made.

The location of the two spare s up front is also approximate. That platform still needs work.

I think I'm done!

Not too dirty; just some road dust and mud. I scratch-built the walls between the cabin and truck box/office; they would flip down as needed. The cable cutter at the nose looks a bit too complicated, but maybe it contains instruments to detect mines or something. There's a 3D printed winch (that I made for a Land Rover build) over the cab. I made a rough mask for the Ukrainian cross ID and painted it on with an AK pen (I'm not getting a kickback from them. I wish...)

I printed the sensor ball, but the drone detect/disable EW array is from the Magic Factory MRZR kit:

Other side with our French mechanic for scale. I left the large Diesel tank, since the generator will need fuel. The Ukrainian flag is just Tamiya tape painted with (...again....) AK pens:

The solar panels would generate about 1000W - 1200W on a sunny day.

20KWh Generator and fuel pump. The generator, fire extinguisher and antenna mount are 3D printed. I also have a small printed video camera in the upper right. The antenna is from some thin plastic wire that Jeff sent me.

Party time! The sensor ball has some Tamiya Interference tape on the lenses and so does the self driving/3D terrain scanner in front of the cab. This was inspired by all the Waymo driverless Taxis in my neighborhood; I see at least one a day (they also used my 'hood to train the cars):

I also started on an interior, but it exceeded my motivation budget. The doors to the truck box are only glued in place with acrylic glue, so I can open them at any time. There's a bathroom, some equipment lockers, a table and bunk beds:

This has been a long, but enjoyable project. It's also very, very heavy.

Wow! That is dead impressive, Frank!

... There's a bathroom, some equipment lockers, a table and bunk beds...

And a pretty decent deck to party on ... although those spare tires are kind of taking up prime BBQ real estate  :icon_surprised:

Nice job, Frank!

I spent ages looking for that Ukrainian flag ... Maybe it is time to go get my eyes checked for a new set of spec's? :-\

 ;D ;D

Moi aussi!  I definitely new new specs ... but, to be fair, it took me ages to realize that when Frank said "Ukrainian flag" he really meant "Ukrainian flag:))

Oof!  Those solar panels, tho...

Hasn't this thread grown from inspiration to a shining spot in the actual LAND build folder?

Thanks, guys! I love that tactical camper. I don't know if I would have the patience (or space) to make something that big!
