Hi all
Colour problems with the Spitfire were duplicated on this one. But I have scored a couple of home goals as well.
Firstly when cutting the wheels from the sprue the last component instead of dropping softly onto a piece of kitchen towel went zinggg into the air and was last heard pinging off various objects in the basket beside the work table, lost to furniture monster, rookie mistake , cursed myself for being an idiot.
Then the exhaust stacks disappeared, they were successfully cut off the sprues and subtly painted, then put somewhere safe to dry. So safe I can't find them !
Should have put them in the box, stupid mistake, cursed myself for being a complete idiot.
I couldn't find anything suitable in the spares box (i was NOT going to fit wheels from a first generation Typhoon), so I've had to buy in some resin replacements. They should arrive in the next couple of days, so watch this space.
The Typhoon is complete apart from said components so one nights modelling time should see it completed.
By the way the decals on this kit are fantastic, not too shiny, and no trimming needed, just cut from sheet, plonk in water and slide into position. They did seem to grip quite quickly but that may have been the Hataka paint, plenty of water was required.
More when it happens..............
