Aosshima 1/24 SL65 AMG Black Series
« on: December 20, 2015, 09:06:10 AM »
hi everyone

My scud launcher build froze while I built up my second favourite car ever - the AMG SL65 Black Series Merc. I didn't even know there was a kit of this until I found one in a hobby shop in the city that has an extensive rage of odd ball kits. I had to pick this one up as I've always wanted a kit of this car

It's a very easy kit to put together and the detail is really nicely molded. It's finished in Alclad Candy Apple Red over Alclad aluminum

The rims were the trickiest part to paint but in the end look really good. I sprayed them Tamiya X18 and then using a cotton bud soaked in thinners to wipe away the paint from the tops

The bonnet isn't exactly sitting flush in these photos sorry

Anyways, thanks for looking

Excellent work !!  :D Great paint job !  How did you do the defrost lines in the back window ?

Thanks guys
Steve, the rear Windows were sprayed with alclad sepia to give them a light tint. The paint must have caught in the lines to highlight them a bit. An unexpected side effect :)
