Thanks guys! The KU code denotes 47 Squadron (P-47 - geddit?), which was actually on Mossies at the time. Hopefully no-one would know that without looking it up.

Also, the line art depicts a P-47D-40 with dorsal fillet. The RAF only had D-25s, sans fillet (although a few had one retrofitted so...).
