For Christmas, my brother offered me several model kits (thanks!) including a Novo Mirage IIIE/O 1/72nd.
I will make a Mini-Mirage from it.
Here is the starting point:
-
I am not a realist at all, and here are the few parts I am going to use only:
-
After the first gluing/cutting, here is the aspect, before truncation of the rear into a minijet:
-
And here is the final project, as drawing first:
-
Détails:
- the Novo kit was sent by Unicraft kits in Ukraine, thanks (with a Boulton-Paul resin kit I will show later, and a MiG-3 vacform-like model).
- The Wazault name sounds in French like Oiseau meaning Bird, without military/killing side.
;)
-
I really like this concept and it looks like you're off to a great start, mon ami!
Watching with interest,
Brian da Basher
-
Thanks!
Well, truncation occurred a few minutes ago, and with a tape holding the fin, we can see the aspect:

A lot of PSR remains to perform to join fuselage and wings, this will be less funny/creative... :( ;)
-
I like it!!
-
Cute
-
Thanks!
The putty duty starts...:
-
lovely !
-
Not bad at all (http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/113.gif)

Great pocket-jet fighter, I look forward to seeing its completion!!!

Awaiting more photos after you done putty duty.

What's happening at France's Studio de Design d’Avions de Tophe today?
PSR, PSR, PSR, PSR and more PSR!
Go, Tophe, go!
Cheering you on from the sidelines,
Brian da Basher
-
Thanks!
The first sanding is made, I am happy...

From a different angle, the result is less pleasant... :( ;)

That's a very good result for the first round, mon ami!
A little more PSR and you'll get there!
Great stuff and thanks for the update!

Thanks!
First sanding on the other side, with the help of my son (8 year-old):
-
After sanding again, then putty again... :(
-
Love your Oiseau :-* ... and the PSR is paying off
-
Thanks for the psychological assistance during this unpleasant hard work...
Maybe I will have putty also on the canopy, because my project is to paint it black (not letting it clear) and I consider a total-vision shape like bubble, continuing in the rear without frame...
-
Here is the canopy/putty act, done.
-
Almost ready for paint...
-
Very nice
-
Wow what an exemplary PSR result mon ami!
You should get the gold medal for PSR for this beauty!
In awe,
Brian da Basher

Looking good Tophe, looking very good 8).
What sort of colour scheme are you intending to do ?
-
I will use sky blue unicolor, as usual.
My planes are not military, nor even serious prototypes, just birds, blue like the sky... ;)
-
I'm thinking sports jet. Years ago was the BD5J. Now we have this transonic beauty.
-
Thanks!
Now the model is finished, I am pleased by the bubble canopy aspect...
-
And the other side:
-
And the top view:
-
nice idea, and good to see it in 3D
-
That finished up a treat Tophe!
I think your choice of colors really highlights the unique layout nicely.

Cool, reminds me of a galactica colonial viper.
-
Looks really good! It reminds me of the X-4 Bantam (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_X-4_Bantam) - only modern, delta winged and French!
-
Thanks! You are right, it is pleasant to be a dreamer, somewhere at the middle between science-fiction, audacious prototype and absurdity... ;)
