I'm fairly sure other aircraft have been outfitted with OR suites.  C-130 springs to mind.

I seem to recall that the Soviets had some Mil Mi-6 helos equipped with an OR, or at least a very comprehensive medical suite. However IIRC, it was supposed to operate on the ground, not in flight. Essentially, it was a rapid-deployable helo-portable field hospital.

Certain BBJ's owned by older rich men have complete OR's onboard.  Had to add extra oxygen provisions for one and it got "interesting".

Unfortunately, that one appears to not have ever actually been deployed as a Flying Hospital.

Orbis has a Flying Eye Hospital using a DC-10

I'd be interested in seeing that.

FWIW, most patients deemed fit to fly are not undergoing surgery in-flight. They are typically stabilized before flight and are evac'd from a Role 2 to Role 3/4. The C-17 I am not certain if its designed to treat in flight, its probably designed to be used on the airfield where no DCS/DCR or trauma facility exists.

I looked into buying a Pilatus PC-12 with a full dental clinic ''in'' it for use in Alaska right after the American economy tanked.   A Porter was on the list too.    The risks were just too high financially so the idea was scrapped in late 2009......
