Folks,
I bought this one recently for bargain price 7,50 $
(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/815XlaW3SlL._SL1500_.jpg)
Now I need little inspiration :) What can I do with/to it? :) I have one idea now. Upgrade it with 1/48 cockpit from any modern fighter, remove toy features like gun-like handle on it's belly, remove all shooting, light and sound systems, make bigger wings and verticals and repaint it. In other words, make an Firefox out of it. Any other ideas?

I haven't seen one of these for years.
As for some ideas for starters, maybe forward sweep the wings, make smaller but more angular canards, remake the tail fins, and some variable thrusters. Make the intakes proper intakes and loose the gimicky missile launcher. A mountable rail gun could be quite cool - say underneath the craft. The nose needs some work too - maybe a bit more traditionally pointed
Maybe add some louvered vents where the silver bars on the rear are located and upgrade the landing gear. Finally, a splinter style camp job in black and grey would look quite cool.
They're my inputs, but I'm sure someone would come up with better suggestions along the way :)
Look forward to seeing what you do with it

It is funny that you try to destroy the fantasy in it. This is opposite as our usual way, but for over-fantasy this is beyond the sprues also, you are right ;)

Another idea is to make it as it appeared in GI Joe Rise of the Cobra 2008 movie.

Make bigger verticals, lower landing gear, slight different cockpit, real intakes...

At this point I think that anything you do to that thing will make it better.
Certainly going to be a challenge and but I suspect you will conquer this within no time at all :)

That's...er...something :) I wish I have donor sets to make simmilar one.
So...I've made up a plan for this built:
1. New cockpit - 1/32 cockpit thub and seat
2. Shorter gear legs
3.Larger wings and different verticals
4.Proper intakes and exhausts
5.Sealing all screw holes and top-bottom connection lines
6. New paintjob
And I hope I'll be able to show it without shame :)

I've prepared main parts and primered cockpit thub.

Hi there,
Today I've started cockpit. Tub was cut in half to make seat fit into.

Also, intakes are almost ready:

Finally, cockpit floor was removed. It 'll be sealed with piece of styrene:
