Hi guys
This is the latest build off my bench - Trumpeter's 35th Scud Launcher. It's not a bad kit to put together. Minimal clean up but it can be fiddly. It's a markedly different kit from the BR-52 that's for sure. Trumpeter have come a long way since then and this proves it (well, in my opinion anyway)
I've done it in an East German scheme simply because it's simple but quite cool and no where near as complex as some of the one's Trumpeter give you as an option
The hydraulic piston at the rear is home made and telescopes quite nicely. Plumbing and hoses are also an addition - although not exactly accurate. Trumpeter neglect to tell you how everything plugs in, so I've WIF'd it a bit there

Anyways, that's it for now. It was fun to build but I am glad to see it done
I am prepping for my next project - something that will take me a very long time to do and will test any scratch building skills I have. Yep, I'm going to take on Tamiya's 1/350 Enterprise. What I'll do to it isn't new and has been done by countless others before me, but I don't care. I'm still going to do it. I built it once when I was a teenager and I cringe now when I think of how bad a job I did of it.
Anyways, before that, I shall try to finish off the BSG Pegasus and clear that up as it has suffered a bit of neglect. Time for some 'Madhatter Lovin' I think :)
Till next time

I love that 1980s three color NVA scheme.
Cheers,

Impressive! Certainly looks better than the old DML kit. All that is missing is the crew members fueling the missile in their chemical hazard suits.
-
That's very good! :icon_alabanza:
-
thanks guys :) It's certainly detailed enough - nothing like the Dragon version (although I have never had it, but I hear it's very basic)
-
Master piece of modeling.

Great work!tell how you did the hydraulic piston, it looks perfect.
PS I love the location of the fire extinguisher.
-
Very cool and I like that you elected to paint it in the NVA camo.
-
Thanks guys :)
Kerick, the ram is made of telescoping tube - a mix of aluminium and copper tubing painted in Alclad
The only problem with it is that it doesn't quite lower all the way down. Being in the lowered position it's not such a big deal

Gorgeous, a really neat build of a meaty subject.
I have built the DML version and simplistic is one description. Essence of crotch is another.
Still, it made a great base for the Bereg SP gun I scratched up..which has now also been released as a kit.

Not from me but from all the SP gun enthusiasts out there;
Thanks for taking the hit, Brian! :)
Again! ;)

:) Wow!!
I have the Dragon one but I am having second thoughts :-X
-
That is beautiful work! Do the rear cabin doors work?
-
Nice work.
I am still awaiting this one:

Thanks fellas
Frank, the rear doors do open. I just didn't have them like that for the pictures.
There is a fully detailed cabin behind them
That other launcher has wicked sci-fi potential! :)

Don't get me wrong, it is simplistic and clunky and not up to the current releases, nor close scrutiny as far as accuracy goes.
But as basis for other builds and especially a bit of kitbashing/Whiffing/Sci Fi fodder, they have great potential
