Folks:
I was inspired by Uncle Les's beautiful CA-31.
Sooooo what if CAC in concert with BAe decided to revive the CA-31 proposal but starting with the BAe Hawk family and adding delta wings?
So after some brain pain, hacking, wacking and sawing I have a CA-34 Hawk III or the license built BAe Hawk 350.
Sorry for poor pictures. It's too cold to shoot outside.

The Hawk is the Italeri 127 kit. All delta wings appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to a real A-4 wing living or dead, is purely coincidental. ;)
The wings are from the new Airfix A-4B/P.
It wasn't much work to get the wings to fit. Had to cut back a piece of fuselage, trim back the fuselage/wing fairing, trim back the wings, I removed the vortex generators and installed some styrene sheet shims and fillers.
The Hawk 300 will be based on the T.1. There will also be a Hawk 400 and 450.

Gotta love Skyhawks wings. Great work on blending the two. Wish Ihad thought of that.
I'm interested to see how you do the landing gear.
-
Fuselage go/flow together just like on the RW one ;)
Combo that was meant to be with minimal cutting-filing-filling same deal as the SBDJ Dauntless II build. Both were meant to be wing fits.
Carry on and keep posting !

This where I am going to be lazy and keep the existing A-4 gear layout. Nose gear may need to be sourced from elsewhere as the stock Hawk gear maybe too short.

Yup. It was a match made in heaven. ;D

Nice! Maybe have it as a bigger brother to the AAC Wamira?
-
Nicely done using the best bit from the Airfix Skyhawk, needs radar. :) 8)

(grumble*) It's still a two seater...
;)
Should be a beauty when finished!
*I'm obliged to be curmudgeonly.

Thanks Dr. Y.
I have plans for a Hawk 400 and 450 based on these kits:

The pics are great and this idea is such a natural that I'm surprised I haven't seen anything like it before. Got to tip my hat to you for coming up with the concept!
Sure looks like you're off to a wizard start! Nice work on the intakes!
Looking forward to more,

I wonder how a 1/144 Eurofighter typhoon or Gripen wing would look.

This is going to look great, keep it coming! :)

A lovely idea and I'm pleased to see it fits together so easily. Watching with interest!
Fanta can? Modern Hawk 127-style camo?

Hi Zac. Well Um. Ah . Err.....
The finish is going to be in Finish markings in a very boring overall dark gull grey. I have a camouflage phobia. :(
Here is what it is at. I only need to add the pitot tube and canopy. The nose gear is from a Mitsubishi F-1. Worked out well I think The extra ground clearance is not overly pronounced.

Now it looks like it needs canards.
Go on. You know you want to. Give in to the delta canard.

Obviously my tin foil hat is not working Zac. I too was thinking about putting some whiskers on as well on that long schnoz. Let me play with the concept.

Are you sure you have the right brand of foil?
