Title: RS Models XP-79B WIP ...
Post by: jcf on August 22, 2015, 09:16:59 AM
Fairly typical contemporary short-run, e.g. better than they used to be, but still not major manufacturer quality. Building it gear up, so typically crap fit on gear doors. n :-X

Jon - Kit issues aside, I like your subject choice :)

Measured wing sweep ?
25ish degrees ?
Looks more than Me-163.

Overall fit is actually pretty good, typical fettling of parts required before cementing to limit later sanding, puttying etc.
The crap fit of the landing gear doors is common to just about all mnaufacturers, new and old, because 99% of the time
they don't design them to be built gear up.

I hold a faint hope that RS will issue the original ( and never constructed ) rocket powered version. If I ever get one of the
jets, I think I'll try to convert it to a conventional bubble-top.

Good luck with the build Jon - looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
