Hi all, presents its latest model.
"This is just my imagination how Arado 555 could look like if it was made by Northrop and used as Strategic Nuclear Bomber under Strategic Air Command.
Camouflage was made-up by Karlík (many thanks to him).
The kit is in fact a re-build of an old partially assembled kit, which I had done some 16 years ago, without using putty, sanding and painting (all that was forbidden for me at that time, because I had lived with my parents, you see).

Absolutely beautiful. Your weathering is 2nd to none

Oh, my giddy aunt! :icon_surprised:
That is just too good for mere words to express! :-*

I liked the Arctic trim. I did my USAF 15th Air Force machine(posted here a while back) in overall aluminum. very nicely finished. Old Jack Northrop just couldn't keep his hands off of the jerry lying wing plans and data.
Adios, Larry.

Outstanding! :)
-
Sooooooooo good! :-*

The bare metal is exquisite. What did you use to achieve that effect?
-
Thank you all for praise. I am pleased with it. :)

I use paint Alclad II. Easy handling and good result.

Can you give a link here? I can not find it.

Thats amazing. Literally dropped my jaw. :-* :-* Its a great idea, and the finish is remarkable.

That's incredibly well done, ujik! The way you finished that is utterly convincing and I don't think I've seen that old SAC scheme done better!
Quite the show-stopper!

Mine is not as slick as yours. I brush-painted mine Testors Aluminum with a brushed Future topcoat. My markings were scrounged from my scrap-box.
Adios, Larry.

How about post war build of Axis plane-ship-armor being in allied service. Updated or not.
> Ar555 re-engined and in 60s-70s SEA service.
> Japanese J7W2 in ROK war service.
> German or Japanese destroyer-cruiser-battle ship-carrier refitted post war and in cold war Australia, Canada, UK service.
> Etc,,, Etc,,, Etc,,,

Funny you should say that ... ???
... because I have recently been contemplating buying a 1/350 Prinz Eugen to build as a RAN post-war prize in my Royal Australian Marines alternate history.
I know she (or should I be using the European "he"?) went to the Americans & that they had extensive trouble with her boilers & engines once the remaining German crew left the ship but, I thought, "What if they passed her on to Australia, which was being rowdy about not getting any decent war prizes, in 1946/47 instead of blowing up atom bombs at her?"
Australia could then put her in dry dock for a serious overhaul & upgrade. Replace her guns (with British BL 8-inch Mk.VIII naval guns) & boilers with British boilers (RAN was still very RN-centric at this time).
Interestingly, from what I can gather, the British guns were lighter than their German (& American) equivalents & the boilers slightly heavier. This would, in fact, have improved her sea-keeping abilities & freed up mass to be added to the superstructure in the form of the latest fire-control, radar & AAA weapons systems.
With such a major overhaul & rebuild at this time I could see her returning to service either just before or during the Korean War, with her service life extending past Viet Nam &, maybe, up to the late 1990's or even, barely possibly, into the 2000's.
Prinz Eugen's mine! Mine!! Do you understand??? All mine!!!! Muahahahahahahahahahahahhaha!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-\

With guns removed and VLS installed?

Dunno what plot-story could be,,,, but these can now be in a movie via computer graphics.
Recalling how they did it with Red Tails.

Very interesting, go for it! Can't wait to see the result.
Actually, why didn't Australia get much in the way of war prizes or even surplus equipment from allies? I know we had requirements for cruisers post war that we attempted to fill through modernising Australia and Hobart, that ultimately went nowhere thanks to post Korea defence cuts, but why our grateful allies didn't give us a share of the spoils, either prize or surplus cruisers or perhaps carriers and modern large destroyers, freeing up resources for a local cruiser build.
Anyway getting way off topic here maybe this would be worth a new topic of its own.

Love the finish on the Arado.. like everyone else.. top notch work
As to the GB idea.. 8)

It looks like, the French comic artists Blanchard and Pécau were inspiried by your Northrop B-55 Corona/Arado 555.
This comic is alternate history story in 1947, were the West Allies and Germany (20th July plot successful) join their forces against the Soviet Union (?).
