Ok.. I should be working on the Airship Carrier.. a bit has been done but...
I was doing a shelf purge and removing models that were.. to current standands..not up to standard.
So I pulled this off the shelf and the gun fell off and went... hmmmmm ?????

A further rummage around the spares box found an old Soviet 120mm Mortar, which the Germans did use.
So a quick fit and a further HMMMMM !!!!

Like how you included a box & stuff and ready round rack right on.
Noticed how well card stock matches-flows with original side plates.
Looks the part repurposed as mortar carriage. :)
-
That is a nifty whiff!
-
Nearly there.
So added some more stuff inside, base plate and extra Bipod so the mortar can be dismounted.

Looking great. :)

Great looking SP mortar.
-
Loving the details as it's coming together ....... really think the mortar frame and baseplate on the rear is a great touch (might pinch the idea at some stage). :-*

That's a great concept and it looks like you're well on your way towards a very convincing model indeed!

Ok.. pretty much done here
So first up after the initial paint job, time to go dotty, some oil paint blotches to lighten and weather up the paint work a bit

Put one of those Dragon pre-painted figures on and done.

Apart from the overall result which is awesome, that's a superb paint finish, nicely balanced and great tones.
And Dragon make prepainted figs?!!!! - jeez I am out of that loop!

Is a natural as a mortar hauler :)
Like the used look with dirt on tires and wear on interior finish :)
-

That is a knock out punch in both concept and execution :) I still havn't worked up the nerve to do that oil paint dot thingy yet (sorry the exact term escapes me at the moment)
-
Super build and quite plausible - Definitely gets the creative juices flowing
