Since this has now progressed to a point where I am happy with it, I thought I'd post some pics. A steampunk airship based on the security zeppelins in Bioshock Infinite. I have been working mostly from a screenshot I took while playing the game. Envelope and tail assembly done, next step the gondola. Envelope is the Glencoe blimp with plastic strip for the ribs and a scratchbuilt tail.

If steampunk items are meant to go in Sci Fi, I'm more then happy for it to be moved.

Thanks Fellas. Tried to knock up the basic shape of the gondola today, but it didn't turn out right. So did some work on my 1/144 scale airships and will try again tomorrow.

Yes.. looking on here as well.
I have a recent purchase 1/720 zeppelin that needs something done with it.

Given the airship/steampunk vibe happening around here at the moment I thought I'd link a few songs from one of my favourite bands - Abney Park. :icon_music:

Is this an asymmetric airship? ;) Nice anyway! :-*

The man is bulding airships now too?
Might be time for me to switch to mudpies.
This is going to be epic and I feel lucky to be along for the ride!

I have a few airships built. Lindberg Graf Zeppelin, Revell Goodyear blimp, Hindenburg and Graf Zeppelin II. 2 Glencoe Blimps. Maquette R-100. In diecast Herpa NT and modelpower goodyear blimp and 2 hotwheels blimps.
Currently building this steampunk one, AMT Macon, Hindenburg minikit, red eagle miniatures 1/144 P type Zeppelin and a scratchbuilt submarine scout.

Wow I hope you'll share your Macon with us! I've got one of those in the stash awaiting "the treatment".
I wouldn't mind seeing what you did with your R-100 either. Here's how mine came out:

There's a thread about this around here somewhere...

Wow I do like that a lot. My R-100 was built as R-100 straight out of the box, incorrect passenger cabin windows and everything. She needs a few repairs at the moment some of the prop blades have become broken. anyway here is a pic I took back when I built her.

After having read Nevil Shute Norway's autobiography, Sliderule, I'll admit to being tempted to do a stock R.100.

Your R-100 is very sharp indeed, Geoff! You've achieved something I can only dream of, finishing a model to such a high degree that it looks better than the box art.
Well done!

Ok not a great deal done, but a start has been made on the gondola. Actually the third start, but this one looks like its going to work. Still a lot of work to do, but some progress has been made. This part of the gondola is the hull of the Heller Eagle with the stern cut off.
