So I've got this airship I've been working on. I still need to get the 6 or 8 wee engine pods attached and I'll be using small, clear disks to simulate the spinning props, but the picture will give you a good idea of the shape. The project's a little stalled out, so I'm hoping if I get some input from you, I'll be inspired to finish it. Please vote and let me know what you think!

For some reason, I'm reminded of the Soviets in the old Crimson Skies game, so that gets my vote. The Workers' Voyage, I think it was.
Cheers,

Do like the TCA look. Gawd does that Conni have class or what :-*
Airship looks so long and sleek. Could be for coast-to-coast airship races with turboprop or airliner type jet engines.

Not sure why Penn RR would have an airship but I like the idea of them having one ;) Maybe they're trying to branch out and expand their market? I'm sure you could come up with a neat story :)
How about black over red with the yellow stripes, and the logos all over the sides, tail fins, and top, and bottom 8)

How about an ex-USN ship, now a warbird sponsored by Oscar Mayer? ;D

What 1:700 scale submarine was that airship derived from Brian?

I think it would look great with a giant Sovietski red star on its side.
-
Wow you guys have some great ideas!
I really like the Pennsy on black, thanks Cliffy!
Interestingly, I thought a lot about the Soviet version, Frank. I even have these decals left over from a 1/72 I-1 monoplane:

Mr Fontaine, I can't recall which subs these hulls are from, but I think you sent them to me.
And, unfortunately, no Oscar Mayer or TCA decals in the stash...both are great suggestions as is the German Man-o-War!
Keep the ideas coming!

Maroon with gold trim as on the PARR's GG1's.

One more vote for a Glorious Peoples' Airship!

One more vote for the "good old" USSR, Tovarich :)
-
Is it meant to be modern or a certain period? How about something like the three tone early WWII Navy aircraft scheme? Wavy lines between the colors. Or modern Air Force SOP C-130s and V-22s?
-
WW1 german with the always cool lozenge pattern and a big ol iron cross on the front of the nose! or russian is cool.
-
I have a feeling the Soviet scheme is gonna win this one in a walk but I would love to have seen it in Pan Am markings.
Ah well, I'm sure it's going to be cool in any case. O0

Oh, Like Brian is going to need an excuse to do another airship after this one.... ;)

Thanks for voting and for all the great ideas. The Soviet option won in a landslide, so red stars it is for this one.
You can bet there'll be more airships from me in the future, including Pan Am.
Speaking of which, here's a jet-powered Pan Am airship I built a while back.

Well heck Brian, I didn't realize you'd already built a Pan Am airship. :-*
Very well then Comrade, carry on with the dirty damn commie uh, GLORIOUS PEOPLE'S REVOLUTIONARY AIRSHIP! O0
