I just happened upon this article showing a drone concept by Piaggio based on their P.180 Avanti turboprop:

I love the looks of the Avanti and would love an injection formed one in 1/72. There is a lot of WHIFF potential in that beastie.

Sanger does a Vacuform kit which is very nicely done (got one in the stash), but I agree with you that it's a really handsome aircraft.
Back in 09' I got right up close to this one below, I took a whole load of pics of it and then asked CanMilAir if he could do a set of decals of it. Which Bill did and I've got a set of them to put on my P.180 when I get around to building it.

I believe the Sanger kit actually represents a prototype or pre production mark. As long as you can find a reliable source of info to tell you how to get from there to a production variant, it would get the job done.

I couldn't say upnorth, looking at my photos and the model I don't see any differences that stand out. But it's the only game in town ----

I would LOVE to do a US Army Guardrail out of one.

The kit I have is a vacuform but looking at the thumbnail in that link I posted, the parts look like resin. But I wouldn't think it was going by the price of it ---

I had the same thought. All of the other Sanger stuff is vacuform so I would expect it to be the case as well.

I suppose I could do a sub-scale UAV in 1/48...
