Dirk Heyer built this Revell 1:72nd Fennek (Der Wüstenfuchs) (http://www.modellversium.de/galerie/22-militaer-fahrzeuge/10255-fennek-revell.html) and included a complete interior with a lot of detail that you would expect in a much larger scale kit. Very inspiring and demotivating all at the same time when you consider how tiny that model is and what he has managed to do with it. Knitting is starting to look better all the time as my new hobby :(

Knitting?
You may want to reconsider that decision:

Ah hell...well I guess drinking is still an option :icon_beer:

Thanks Jon,
Never one to pass up the opportunity to add to the demotivation eh? Definitely some fantastic knitting at that link. Suppose I could just carve toothpicks from big sticks and call it a day? :)

My wife knits. She knits me nice, comfy socks and sweaters and hats. Why would I go from a relatively easy hobby to a harder one, like knitting?
Nice build, but there is no 1/35 Fennek.
-
Actually there is a 1/35 Fennek available (see here (http://www.y-serie.de/start.htm)). Unfortunately, it is a pre-built die cast job and not a kit.

Nice! Missed the part about how much the models will cost. Suppose it is only a matter of time before a resin kit surfaces or better yet, Revell gets motivated and offers one as a proper injection molded kit.
-
Agreed. The die cast ones go for about €45 on eBay (see here (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150851659524#ht_500wt_922))

How about a 6x6 version? The second one has a Bradley turret that's more or less to scale. I suppose you could put a Bradley turret straight onto a standard Fennek for a look much like the British FV721 Fox CVR(W).

Nice.
How about a Marder or Puma turret?
-
Nice! Liking that idea a lot. :)
-
Those 6x6 are zactly what they should be. Am liking much :)

Maybe do something similar to this:

I'm waiting for the price to come down, but I want one of these versions:
Dutch: http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/trp05533.htm (http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/trp05533.htm)
German: http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/trp05534.htm (http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/trp05534.htm)
1/35 injection-mold plastic.
I may have to transplant the turret from my AVGP Cougar onto mine...
-
I'm a long time fan of the Fennek both for modelling purposes and also from the point of view of being ex-cavalry admiring the vehicle for its capabilities.
-
How about a dedicated anti-tank Fenneck. Something akin to a German equivalent to the Anti-tank BRDM2:

or VAB Mephisto:

Actually some research has indicated that there is Fennek Medium Range Anti Tank (MRAT) variant:
Details (http://www.kmweg.com/home/wheeled-vehicles/fennek/fennek-medium-range-anti-tank/product-information.html)
I still think that something with a more visible system would look better though...
For example, the Fennek Stinger Weapon Platform (SWP) certainly is more 'visual':

How many Spike ER missiles (1670mm in length and 170mm in diametre according to the brochure) can be carried in the passenger compartment if an external launcher post (like the one in the attachment?) or even Mini-Samson ATGM RWS (http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=2706.msg102224#msg102224) is used?

The fenneck makes think of a chopped top kustom lead sled of the armored car world.
Found this online somewhere

Click on the PB thumbnail to see actual image.
***tried to fix/tweek your img/url link so that the image would show up here but PB is not cooperating :\ jjf

Arkon, nice find. Is that just artwork or was there an actual vehicle to be produced?
Tried to fix your image link but PB is not cooperating. Got it to open in a new page but that was as far as it would go. Even with the option to view image and obtaining the actual URL was a fail. :(

By right clicking on the picture, I used a plug-in to search for the image on Google.
It's the Panhard CRAB: http://www.panhard-defense.eu/Defense/CRAB/CRAB (http://www.panhard-defense.eu/Defense/CRAB/CRAB)

It looks like the child of a Fennek and a VBL

Yeah I don't know what's going on with my PB, that was my third try to get it on here.
Not sure if it's my phone,PB, or just the Internet ( they have been cutting phone lines and other stuff left n right around here lately putting in new ones).
And the image is just one I found when I googled fenneck. Just really liked it.(now I want to build one 😊)

Thank you Frank and Jeff.
