...so I took the 1st Canadian Air Division camo worn by Sabres and Canucks, and put it onto an F-4E:

I realise it's a bit anachronistic, with the old-style serial and the Red Ensign, but whatever - I think it looks good! (Mind, I think pretty much *any* scheme would look good on a Phantom...). Sorry for the picture quality, the camera wasn't being overly cooperative, and I wasn't in the mood to futz around with it that much.

You thought correctly, its awesome!!!! Phantoms always look good in disruptive schemes and I personally like the splash of color on the tail.
Nice loadout too! Some tankers are going to hate you though ;D I see the Mavericks but what's on the outermost port station (maybe the starboard as well I can't tell)?
-
I believe those are Walleyes on the outboard stations and they'll ruin the day for either tanks or folks in fortified positions.
If memory serves me correctly, the F-4 was pitched to the RCAF but I don't remember what variant and a copy of the proposal's on a laptop that's not being cooperative at the moment.
PS. That's a truly gorgeous Phantom, there.

F-4Es were the main variant pitched, but Spey engined ones were also bandied about. Given the mercurial nature of Canadian procurement, almost any variant would be applicable, except possibly the fully navalised ones. Maybe.

Which of course leads to thoughts of Spey-powered F-4E's in RCAF markings.

Yet more proof that maple leafs up the coolness factor of any aircraft by 1000%!
That RCAF Phantom is pure eye candy and the Red Ensign is the cherry on top! Well done, Ms. Litvyak!

Thanks for the comments! Glad yous like it, too. :)
Loadout: yeah, it's Mavericks and Walleyes. 1CAD: helping to make sure the Reds don't get cold during those central European winters! ;)

Very nice! :-*

Yup, you were right about the 1CAD markings! Nice work :)
-
That does look rather tasty. Nice job!

Reminds me of early 80's british phantoms ... I love it !
