The big H has the Valom XP-75A on sale. The kit also has the parts to make a P-75A less the canopy.
So I was thinking of adding more bits from the original donor aircraft subject to test fits to make a ground attack aircraft.
- P-51 canopy
 - P-51 tail vs current design
 - P-51 radiator intake
 - P-39/P-63 nose extension with tricycle LG. I know this would be a stretch.  ;D
 - P-63 propellor hub 37mm
 - 40mm Vickers S cannons
 - Tip tanks. Gotta have tip tanks

For a tricycle gear, you'd need to move the main gear aft.  I'm not familiar enough with that aircraft to say how easy or difficult that would be.  You'd likely need a 1/48 P-51 radiator as you're dealing with cooling double the engine.  Will the Vickers cannon be under the wings as on the Hurricane?
Just a thought for the original fighter role, P-75A's escorting B-39s over the Reich and dealing with Henschel P.75 fighters with the coupled Daimler-Benz engines.  Could make a nice piece of art under the title of "Coupled Combat".

Evan: the trike gear is going to be problematic. I'll play and with see what happens but this is a big a**ed bird. The 1/48 P-51 rad makes more sense.  And yes it is the same cannons used on the Hurricane Mk IV. I'd like build a larger magazine.
I am on the road this week (hi Robert, I'm in Edmonton right now)  so the fun stuff will have to wait.

Oh, I'll definitely agree about the tri-gear; not only do the mains have to move aft, you're likely to get some "interesting" CG concerns.  I like the idea of a larger magazine for the S guns, though I think I'd like some rockets in addition to truly ruin the targets' day.

I just wish there were a1/48 kit available.  Maybe Planet Models or similar will come to the party...

				Valom just re-popped their XP-75A.
Same kit as before but now it has a 3rd option for the vertical stabilizer.
