... Well the next build anyway... Since this kit was saved by a what-if Forum decorum shows that it would have to be done as a what-if..
So yes its Academy's 1:48th MIG-29A kit (My first in the bigger scale)... But can anyone guess the plan ? I'll give you a hint... Its not in Russian Service ;)

I'll play! I say either RAF or USAF. 8)

wakanda?

Finnish Ilmavoimat ?, it was expected the Finns were going to order the MiG.29 as a replacement for the 21's prior to purchase of the F.18 Hornet's 8)
indeed Fujimi's 72 scale kit had Finnish markings and a few listings of operators of the type in some books during the early days listed the nation as having them too !
cheers, Joe

USN Aggressor with VFC-111 Sundowner tail markings.
Well, that's what I'd do.
-
And Gary wins ! Its gonna be in RAF service... 111sqn to be precise... I have a backstory being fleshed out by a history buff friend of mine but basically its a what-if after the war a special relationship never developed with the US... What if it was with the russians ? Fast forward to the 90's and instead of developing the Tornado F1-3.. we bought plans off the ruskies and home built ?
Progress today :)

Talking of which does anyone have a pic of this area but from the opposite side ? Im trying to detail it and it looks a lil blank and empty on that side...

I am aware thats the opposite side from the steps but i'd have thought someone would have managed it...
Cheers :)

Reason for asking about that area is this.. Even after using Eduards very nice etched brass set this area seems very empty to me :

Anyone got any bright ideas for a name ?
Im not feeling the "Fighting Fulcrum" idea and cant help thinking we'd go for a wind name like Hurricane,Typhoon ect... ??
-
Wind... Sirocco?
-
Tempest II, Cyclone, Storm, Whirlwind II, Zephyr, Gale, Mistral, Monsoon....
-
Alternatively have it produced under licence in Scotland by Scottish Aviation Limited and call it the Claymore...
-
The Russians call Mikoyan “Mig” because it also means “Instant” (of time) in Russian. Just like the diminutive of Sukhoi; “Sushka” is used a lot because it means “Cracker”. So maybe in RAF service the MiG-29 could be the Mikoyan Snapshot FA.1 or Mikoyan Moment FGR.2, etc.
PS If you are using a weather name because it is Russian maybe "Icestorm", "Blizzard", "Nor'easter"...

Got some bad/good news im afraid lads... This build is gonna have to head to the backburner YET again...
Jay from "Scale Aircraft Modelling" has sent me two kits he wants me to build so they are gonna have to take precedence... I doubt i'll be allowed to post lots of those particular builds until they're finished but i got these to play with :) :) :)
