Folks,
Rather than run a new poll, I propose the next Group Build be a "Canadian GB" given this option came a very close second in our last poll. If anyone has an issue with this, please speak up. Please also speak up if you are willing to moderate it.
Poll will probably commence 1 August, so this weekend.

O Canada!
-
Well that's one. Calling all Canadians, time to step up to moderate.
-
I have a project all lined up for that including decals. I say let’s do it!

... Calling all Canadians, time to step up to moderate.
And we always answer the call! Count me in for moderating duties :D

1. How long would this run?
2. Would AltBC stuff count?
-
Canadian GB! All your bases belong to us!
-

Yes, if I have a say. So, just one more good reason to vote for me if moderator choices come to scrap ;)

Come and get 'em, eh ... but first, rise for one of our alternative National Anthems:
"Sucked in by the victim world; Thirsty as a cultured pearl;
Culled and wooed, bitten, chewed; It won't hurt if you don't move ..."

1. How long would this run?
I'm thinking 3mths

Sweet. And would something in my Independent British Columbia universe fit?
-
It is now official. I have been assigned the near-limitless powers as Moderator of the Canadian Group Build! (Feel free to genuflect now if hoping for moderatorial beneficence in future.)
Sweet. And would something in my Independent British Columbia universe fit?
Litvyak: Yes. Your Independent BC fits. (I'd say any scenario based with the boundaries of RW Confederation fits.)
Jeffry Fontaine: Brace yourself for a barrage of Canadian quotes/lyrics. On the latter, we're talking The Guess Who, DOA, DGA, Stan Rogers, The 'Hip, Alanis Morissette ... the lot. And, remember folks, it is all Jeff's fault ;D
-
Hey, that All Your Bases Belong To Us was not in any way meant to Dis this GB. It was my attempt at showing support through an ancient internet meme.
Also, congratulations on you new responsibilities!

Nah, I took it as a good-natured jibe, Jeff ... but I had no idea of your phrase's background! Had to look it up:

That is frickin' awesome! Still, any day is a good day to quote The Tragically Hip ... so, you're welcome! ;D

All Your Base is like, the definitional meme for us Xennials (and also the OG Internet Meme)

And now I feel even older! From context, I was pretty sure that 'OG' wasn't a reference to an Officer of the Guard.
(For other Boomers as clueless as me, the Cambridge Dictionary assures me that, here, 'OG' just means original -- initially standing for 'Original Gangster'.)

Even THIS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1p_BvaHsgGg)?
"Danser"! Absolutely, gotta include Montréal's Men Without Hats ...
"We can leave your friends behind; 'Cause your friends don't dance;
And if they don't dance; Well they're no friends of mine" - MWH (Safety Dance)
And then there's:
"Johnny played guitar, Jenny played bass; Name of the band is The Human Race" - MWH (Pop Goes the World)
Much that I am today, I owe to watching the CBC out of Winnepeg in the 70's. (Went to HS in North Dakota.) I'm in
Welcome aboard, Doc'! And speaking of The 'Peg ... The Guess Who said:
"Moose Jaw saw a few, Moosomin too; Runnin' back to Saskatoon; Red Deer, Terrace and Medicine Hat; Sing another prairie tune ..." although I was never quite sure how Terrace snuck onto a list of Prairie towns ;D

I've always wondered that too. Dawson Creek would make sense, but Terrace? Still, I do love that song.

Yeah and The Hip did play the 'Mile 0 City' at least once. I guess Gordo needed a two-syllable name for the rythm to work?

I really want to join in this GB but my work bench is full, so I need to finish a few builds before I start anything new. I'll cheer on from the sidelines for now and hopefully jump in later on.

Would any of those projects on your bench look better with Maple Leafs on? (What am I saying ... everything looks better with Maple Leaf roundels!)

Anything large enough can be made to fight forest fires. Especially C-130s with a nice red and white paint job.

Too true. Although, I rather like the newer Coulson scheme for their Hercules water bombers.
Somehow that has put me in mind of the RAAF retiring its C-27J Spartan fleet. A few years back, Leonardo was demonstrating a MAFFS II-style system for the C-27. What if some of those ex-Aussie C-27Js went to Coulsons for conversion to waterbombers (with some kind of seasonal timeshare between CA and AU)?

They could be useful though the challenge will be supporting them. Having been involved in this, they are very challenging especially wrt spares.
