Both #1 and #2 look like potential Ukrainian anti drone conversions/upgrades.

I have an F-16XL kit I was planning to combine with an Israeli Sufa. Would that qualify as an upgrade?

Hasegawa does a F-2A-Kai kit with various add-ons.  I'm thinking of crossing that with a F-2B kit and bits from a late-model F-16D with the spine.

Thanks, Greg (& Stephen)! Now I'm torn between two GB's for which I have projects that would fit!  :o

And, no, I can't build seven things simultaneously!  :icon_crap:

Guess I'll have to do one for the Op Downfall GB over on WiM & either of the Antipodal Armoured Collab builds for this GB, then alternate until the GBs run out.  :-\

Definitely a two seater!

That’s a good one too!

This look very interesting. I am keen to participate and have allready thinking of something for it; it envolves a rather famous 1930s airliner thrown into modern warfare :)

The Ukrainians are using an AN-28 cargo aircraft with a side firing minigun to shoot down drones. As of the date of the article, it had shot down 150. That’s quite an upgrade.

Looks like Ukraine also has a Leopard 1-Cockerill -- new turret with 20-40-90mm options.

Actually, as the Cockerill 3105 turret designation suggests, those re-turreted Leopard 1 hulls have 105 mm guns.

And in a similar vein, a turbo-prop P-47 I drew years ago:

How about a B-58 with 8 J97s?

B-58
4 x J79 41,600
8 x J97 42,160

The General Electric J97 is a single-shaft turbojet engine designed and built by General Electric as a compact high-performance engine for light attack fighters and eventually a number of drone projects.

Many moons ago I did a converted F-84 that replaced its worn out jet with a turboprop for use as a coin aircraft

How about this '50s era Ar234F (with the real world Ar-234B-2 included for comparison) that I sketched up over a decade ago:

Nice! Is that a Grumman Panther canopy?

Looks more Phantomish to me. But it would be a cool project.

I seem to recall it was a modified F-4 one though we are talking about something from about 15yrs ago…

Phantom makes sense. It is a good look for that Arado nose.

Some years back did SBD Dauntless life extension and upgrade to SBDJ (jet) Dauntless II configuration.  Includes replacing cowl .50 cals with 20mm and ordnance upgrade.
Since pictures added right wing IFR probe to extend range because three engines can be thirsty.
See attached.

Like your SBDJ   Late-War Dauntlesses could use that extra bit of oomph  8)

I've thought for a long time about different WW2 types reengined with appropriate turbo props. Imagine a Skyraider with a big, long nose.

You would have to buy four Enterprise kits to provide the eight engines. Could be worth it!

I believe it would look just as good with four warp drive units instead of eight.

There were studies and proposals made for an enlarged F-5F with a larger wing and two J97's to keep performance up while reducing wing loading to F-5A/B levels.  Upper management did not proceed with these because they can up through the service engineering organization.

Just a thought, an afterburning version of Honda's small turbofan engine as a replacement fo J85 turbojets?

Repurposing F-5F's as OF-5F's with the RF-5A nose in place of the radome and the guns and cameras replaced by the contents of a suitable EO pod (keep it all in Northrop adn use the guts from a Lightning pod).
