Title: 1/72 Short Belfast
Post by: smeds on March 04, 2026, 06:05:11 PM
Here is my Combat Kita 1/72 Short Belfast. A challenging kit to say the least, not perfect but I'm sort of happy with it.

Awesome job!
Does it have a rear loading ramp? A giant British C-130! 🙄😜

It does have a rear loading ramp, but its moulded closed on the kit. Yes it was basically the British Hercules

Beautiful build.   :-*

I remember seeing Heavy Lift’s Belfasts when we were firing Rapier up in the Hebrides and sharing the ranges with the Swiss.  They used to use them as their carrier of choice. Those were the days…

A bit more graceful than a Hercules. Splendid build, sir.

Just had a random thought: If this is the Short Belfast, what does the Long Belfast look like?  ???

Isn't the "long Belfast" moored in the Pool of London???

Good deducing, that man!  :D

Of course, the l-o-n-g (HMS) Belfast is moored in the Lower Pool of London, approximately mid-way between Tower Bridge to the East & London Bridge to the West!  ;D ;D ;D

How could I have missed that one?  ??? :icon_surprised:
