While waiting for the last of the AK figures to dry, I decided to start on the Miniart PE-95 generator:
Most of the sprues are for containers and non-generator parts. The generator is fairly small and goes together quickly. Fit is OK. It comes with a PE sheet with many, many small parts that were surprisingly easy to install. Here it is, waiting for the Ammo Ultra Glue (basically, white glue) to fully dry before I fill in gaps and do some cleanup before painting.
Glue, instructions, generator, PE sheet:

The kit comes with a decal sheet for the different fuel and oil containers, as well as for the dials in the front. The bottom is open. I may cover it, or leave as is.

Neat little dio accessory.

I sprayed some Badger Stynylrez primer on the PE-95; pre-shaded with black from below and their olive drab from above. Slightly grainy from the light angle and few coats:

Ignore the cat hair:

I then decided to try the new-ish Atom paint by Ammo. I tried their olive drab thinned slightly (it probably doesn't need it) and it went on like a dream. Thin coats, amazing coverage and dries quickly. The finish looks good, too. Slightly out of focus top:

The direct sunlight brings out the graininess in the primer, but it shows how finely grained the Atom paint is.
Now it needs decals, detail painting and weathering/rust. I haven't been able to find pictures online showing the AC voltage output. I think one of the knobs up front overs the port, but I don't know.

Hey, Frank, this image should help;

Thanks, Guy! I was expecting a single, larger plug; I found the TM just now, and it could put out 120V @ 80A per plug or more, depending on the cable gauge... seems excessive, but it was the 40s and wartime.
-
You could heat a couple of pretty good sized saunas with that https://ikikiuas.com/products/pillar-iki-9-kw/

It is a really neat little kit

Happy to help!
I get the feeling those butterfly nut posts are for the high voltage/amperage stuff (but I could be wrong).

I could probably weather this more, but I'm calling this one finished:

Lots of decals for the control panel. The four larger dials were from the kit, the four smaller (and all but invisible) dials I made myself. The white markings are from the kit:

Hi Frank.
I think you did a wonderful job of weathering that generator. Just about perfect to be honest. Most of the time the generator sets were under a canvas cover when mounted on a dedicated generator trailer. The exception being the much larger 30kw and 50kw generators that I was familiar with were all exposed to the elements but all had removable panels to cover the areas that required being open when operating.

That's beautiful
I think we're lucky to be in a time when you can get figures that aren't just 'attacking' and subjects of thinks that aren't just combat vehicles. All the supporting gear I think is just more 'alive'.

So True!

Stunning, excellent work. Bravo!

Frank, when did you learn to PhotoShop so well? ???
Seriously, that last photo looks like a real bloke looking at a real gen set exceptionally well PhotoShopped onto a painted concrete background. 8) 8) 8)

Thanks, guys. I used to walk by a PE-95 (or similar) generator on my way to class, and later work. It was in one of the large Engineering department machine shop bays and it painted yellow and was on a cart. They would roll it out occasionally to power a welder. I remember that one of the engine covers was loose/rattled. Even though it was protected most of the time, it showed signs of rust or paint flaking.
I think the main reason the figure looks good is because it's a scan of a real person, not just a very good sculpt.

Now that your mechanic has some power maybe he can help out with your builds instead of just standing around looking confused :P

As above.. Frank you have nailed this the Gen set is super duper
