Title: Shapeways ceases operations and files for bankruptcy
Post by: Frank3k on July 04, 2024, 10:37:10 AM
Saw this on Armorama:

Shapeways ceases operations and files for bankruptcy (https://www.tctmagazine.com/additive-manufacturing-3d-printing-news/latest-additive-manufacturing-3d-printing-news/shapeways-ceases-operations-and-files-for-bankruptcy/)

Sad, but not unexpected - they simply couldn't keep up with hobbyist and cheaper print services.

Shapeways is coming back (https://support.shapeways.com/hc/en-nl/articles/17209325443484-Shapeways-FAQ), now owned by the original founders. The original stores and models have been deleted, which is mildly annoying.
